What is dot art?

Placing one dot at a time until something breathtaking appears.

You use a stylus to place dots of acrylic paint onto a surface - rocks, ceramics, wood, canvas - building layers of color and pattern until a mandala design takes shape. The repetitive rhythm is deeply calming. The results are genuinely stunning.

It requires no drawing ability, no painting background, and no expensive materials. If you can hold a pen, you can learn this.

The honest question

"Can't I just learn this on YouTube?"

You can try. Many of my students spent months doing exactly that before finding me. Here's the honest difference.

Learning from free videos
  • Random videos in random order - no path from beginner to confident
  • Every creator teaches differently, so techniques contradict each other
  • Key steps are skipped or rushed - the ratios, the pressure, the fixes
  • When something goes wrong, there is nobody to ask
  • Months of trial, error, and wasted supplies
  • You watch other people make art more than you make it yourself
Learning with Lina
  • One clear path: each lesson builds on the last, nothing skipped
  • One consistent method refined over 10 years of daily practice
  • Every step shown in real time - the exact pressure, angle, and fix for every mistake
  • A private student community, with Lina in it, answering questions
  • My students finish their first real mandala in week one
  • Techniques you will not find in any free video - my own, developed over a decade

"My art is my therapy and without Lina I would still be wandering the web, searching for how-to videos and wondering how can I do that?" - Cheryl Sargent, online student

Your instructor
Hi, I'm Lina.
"I'm not a trained artist. That's exactly why I can teach you."

I work in IT. I have never taken a painting class. And for the past 10+ years I have made dot art every single day - first as my own stress relief from a demanding career, then as a practice I've refined piece by piece, and eventually as something I've taught to over 1,000 students in 30+ countries.

Because I didn't come from an art background, I never forgot what it feels like to be a beginner. I don't skip steps that "everyone knows." I don't assume you can already draw. I teach the way I wish someone had taught me - slowly, clearly, one dot at a time.

I'm also a Certified Art Therapy Practitioner, and that shapes everything about how my lessons feel. This isn't just about technique. It's about giving you a calm, creative ritual that's entirely yours.

I've been dot painting for several years and always strived to achieve your plump dots without success. After adding your paint mixture I'm amazed at the difference in my paint texture. Not only is it puffier, but flows easily with swooshes. Amazing results!!

I purchased all three and am loving them! Thank you! You are great at teaching.
I finished in less than a week. It was like a good book I couldn't put down.

Re: Someone told me this, and it stung...

I started my journey with dot art just watching YouTube videos. Scrolling through so many videos without understanding the process was frustrating. That's why I started finding instructors, like yourself, to learn properly how to create my art. My art is my therapy and without my teachers I would still be wandering through the web.

Hi Lina - I just finished your Level 1 class on Dot Confidence and really enjoyed it. There is so much to learn, so I've really given myself the time to learn and experience each phase. I'm going to check out your advanced classes next. Your classes are very good and easy to understand. Thanks!!!! Pat

Questions?

Quick answers before you start.

Do I need any art experience? +
None at all. Level 1 is built specifically for complete beginners. I designed it assuming you have never held a dotting tool. Most of my students had no art background before they started - and Lina herself has never taken a painting class.
Why pay when there are free videos on YouTube? +
Free videos teach random techniques in random order, from creators who all do things differently. My courses give you one clear path, one consistent method refined over 10 years, every step shown in real time, and a community with me in it when you get stuck. Many of my students spent months on YouTube first - the most common thing they tell me is "I wish I had started here."
Which course should I start with? +
If you have never done dot art, start with Level 1. If you already dot and want to go bigger, Level 4 (Brushstroke Mandalas) is the jump. Levels 2 and 3 are for after you have the basics down.
How much do materials cost to get started? +
Under $10. A basic set of dotting tools costs under $5, and DecoArt Americana paint is about $1 per color. You only need three colors to begin. My Level 1 materials lesson covers exactly what to buy and what to skip.
How long do I have access? +
Forever. Permanent lifetime access with no expiry and no subscription. Every update I add is included automatically at no extra cost. Level 4 in particular grows over time - every new design and lesson goes to existing students free.
Can I sell the pieces I make? +
Yes. Anything you create is completely yours. Sell it, give it as a gift, display it. I only ask that you don't present the original designs as your own originals. Whether you mention the courses is entirely up to you.

The only thing between you
and your first dot is starting.
