You start with simple up and down strokes. Then those strokes curve right, then left, then get a wiggle in the tail. Throughout, they sit closer and closer together, so you are quietly learning the hardest skill in the craft: keeping your strokes from running into each other.
Then nine designs to build on, four flower designs, and eleven shapes to fill with designs of your own. By the last page you are not copying anymore.
