Who This Retreat Is For

This is for you
if you feel it.

You have been meaning to carve out time for yourself for longer than you want to admit. Life keeps getting in the way, and creativity keeps getting pushed to last place on the list.

You do not need to be an artist. You do not need to have taken a single class. You just need to show up, and we will take care of everything else.

This retreat was built for women who are ready to finally give themselves permission to create, in a room full of people who feel exactly the same way.

01

You are a complete beginner

No experience required. Lina has guided students from their very first dot all the way to breathtaking 22-inch mandalas. You are in the right hands.

02

You have taken Levels 1, 2, or 3

This retreat is a natural, powerful next step. You will go deeper than any online course can take you, in person, with Lina beside you.

03

You are an experienced dot artist

Advanced students thrive here too. New techniques, a fresh creative environment, and the energy of a group all push your work to a new level.

04

You just need a real weekend away

The food, the sound bath, the coffee bar, the gift bag. This retreat was designed to feel like a gift to yourself, not just a class.

The Experience

Not a workshop.
A real reset.

The studio doors will be closed to the public. The coffee bar will be full. The table will be set with everything you need. And for four days, the only thing you have to do is create.

You will begin on Friday evening with a gentle welcome session. You will choose your color palette,, getting comfortable, meeting the women you will spend the weekend with. By Sunday afternoon you will be holding a completed 16-inch birch wood mandala that is entirely, unmistakably yours.

Somewhere between the French pastries, the sound bath, and the quiet focus of dot after dot after dot, something shifts. Students call it different things. Peace. Clarity. Coming home to yourself. Whatever it is for you, it is waiting here.

Your Host and Guide

Meet Lina.

Nearly ten years ago, Lina West picked up a river rock and felt an unexpected pull to cover it with dots. That small, quiet moment changed everything.

What started as a hobby became a calling. She spent years pioneering techniques, designing her own custom dotting tools, and developing a teaching method that has helped students around the world go from complete beginner to confident, expressive artist.

As a Certified Art Therapy Practitioner, Lina knows that dot art is more than a skill. It is a practice that quiets the noise and opens something up in you that daily life tends to close off. She brings that understanding into every room she teaches in.

She is also currently working on Level 4, a deep dive into brush work and large-scale pieces, building on everything covered in Levels 1 through 3. If it is ready in time, every retreat guest will receive it as a bonus gift.

"Painting is my therapy. And I believe it can be yours too."

Frequently Asked Questions

Got questions?
We have answers.

Do I need any experience?

Not at all. This retreat welcomes all skill levels, from people who have never picked up a dotting tool to experienced artists looking to go deeper. Lina and her team will meet you exactly where you are.

What do I need to bring?

Just yourself and an open mind. All materials are provided: paints, tools, the 16-inch birch wood round, and practice worksheets. Nothing extra required.

What is the Level 4 bonus?

Lina is currently building her Level 4 online course, focused on brush work and creating large-scale pieces, the natural evolution from Levels 1 through 3. If the course is completed before the retreat, every attending guest will receive it as a complimentary gift. No guarantees on timing, but she is working hard to make it happen.

I am traveling from out of town. Can I still join?

Absolutely. Fair Oaks is about 20 minutes from Sacramento International Airport and has great hotel and Airbnb options nearby. If you cannot make the Friday evening session, joining from Saturday morning is completely fine.

What if I do not finish my piece by Sunday?

That is what Monday is for. The optional finish session on Monday evening from 4 to 7:30 PM is included in your ticket at no extra cost, giving you dedicated time to complete your piece.

Will the studio be open to the public during the retreat?

No. The Crafted Canvas will be closed to the public for the entire weekend, creating a private, uninterrupted space just for retreat guests.

What is the cancellation policy?

Please review the full policy at dotsbylina.com/refund-policy before booking.
